Mar

A twenty-year veteran of the film industry, Mar Andersons is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Arts, and the Union of BC Performers. He has worked for some of the largest film studios in the world in distribution and marketing, including Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Universal, Alliance, and New Line Cinema.

As a working actor, Andersons refined his on-camera talents studying with some of the industries finest, including Jeff Goldblum, John Ritter, and Malcolm McDowell. He has appeared in over forty feature films, television movies, and series, including “The X – Files”, “Little Women”, “Cats & Dogs”, “Stargate”, Amazon’s “Loudermilk”, “Get Shorty”, and MARVEL’s “Avengers Academy”. He just finished shooting the highly anticipated Netflix comic book tentpole series “Grendel”, “Firefly Lane” also for Netflix, and a lead role in Lifetime’s “Let’s Get Physical” starring Jenna Dewan.

As a producer, Andersons’ first film was the short “Three Rings” in 1995. He then Co-Produced “The Love Charm”, for which the BC Motion Picture Association awarded him a Leo Award in the Best Picture category, next producing the feature film “Barbecue … a love story”, which had tremendous success at over a dozen film festivals worldwide.

In the year 2000, Andersons became Executive Vice President of the film finance company After the Edge Films. With ATE, he Co-Produced Warner Brothers & Lions Gate Films’ “Sol Goode”, starring Jamie Kennedy, Balthazar Getty, Jared Leto, Robert Wagner, Carmen Electra, and Tori Spelling.

Andersons currently advises institutional and private equity groups, both foreign and domestic, on various film projects and opportunities. He continues writing, producing, and directing various award winning music videos, television and radio commercials, and branded content for companies like EA and RedBull.

Jay

Starting in the early 2000s, Jay has worked for just about every department in film that one possibly can (even taking a brief turn in front of the camera in ’08/’09). He finally began pursuing a career in script/screenwriting after several years of reading/editing/ghosting for several different production companies in Vancouver, BC. Securing the option for Jack Whyte’s “A Dream of Eagles” novels in 2017, Jay put a bevy of hard yards into developing the books into a flagship series for streaming/linear.In addition to kidstori’s “Pablo” and “The Accademy,” Jay is busy developing a myriad of other projects for kidstori and Storiby, ranging from historical fiction/mythos adaptations, to dystopian sci-fi.

Rob

Rob Berg is a Creative Solutions Expert, with over 25 years of experience bringing ideas to life through design, storytelling, and animation. A classically trained animator, Rob has served as an Art Director and Creative Director for multiple agencies and firms, while also collaborating with a myriad of businesses on projects of every shape and size.

Most recently, Rob is the design/layout guru for “Pablo” — kidstori’s initial foray into the entertainment world — and has been working alongside the company’s co-founders, Mar and Jay, for nearly two decades. With a love for playful ideas and imaginative worlds, Rob brings a rare mix of artistry and strategy to the kidstori family, helping to inspire stories that spark joy and wonder for kids everywhere.

Irv

Irvin Walkes attended the Alberta College of Art & Design, and is a graduate of Medicine Hat College’s graphic design program. He has worked in illustration, watercolor, and logo design in Vancouver for the last two decades, his muse being the ever-changing beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

A lifelong fans of comic books and graphic novels, Irvin leaped at the chance to illustrate a children’s book. He has poured a large part of the last two years of his life into the creation of “Pablo”, elevating the book’s imagery and themes with a richness of style he has developed over the course of his career.
